Roughly 23,200 acre of land was granted to George Boyd and others in 1774, this is the area now known as Millsfield. Millsfield New Hampshire was named in honor of Sir Thomas Mills. It was not until 1952 that Millsfield was organized for voting. Millsfield, NH is actually a township. There are several townships in Coos County. In the State of New Hampshire townships, locations, and grants, and purchases are unincorporated portions of a county which are not part of any town and have limited self-government. The township of Millsfield is quite rural. Many bodies of water are present here, including; Phillips Pond, Mosquito Pond, Moose Pond, and Brook Pond. The only road that leads to Erving’s Location passes through Millsfield. Millsfield is bordered by Erving’s Location and Odell to the west, Dixville to the north Errol to the east and Dummer to the south. Millsfield is a township in Coos County, in the Berlin metro area.
