Mount Monadnock State Park

Hiking up 3165′ Mount Monadnock is a little challenging, but overall it’s a pretty easy hike. Leave your dogs at home, though. Mt. Monadnock is not pet friendly. With rangers patrolling the area during the daytime, Monadnock is a family-friendly mountain. The average hiker takes about 4 hours to get to the top and return, not including time spent at the top to enjoy the views. Allow enough time to complete your hike before sunset – the woods are dark at night and the trails contain many rocks and roots. Some climbing of small rock outcroppings is involved, because the mountain contains large granite forms.
