Great North Woods NH Fishing Guide
Lancaster Berlin NH Fishing Spots & Fishing Holes
Ahhh, the Great North Woods in northern New Hampshire, a sportsmen’s paradise and an excellent choice for your New Hampshire fishing vacation. This far northern area features some fantastic fly fishing, lake trolling, trout ponds, bogs, and streams.
This is where the headwaters of the Connecticut River – New England’s largest river, may be found. The man-made string of lakes called 1st Connecticut, 2nd Connecticut, and 3rd Connecticut are home to many lake trout, landlocked salmon, perch, and other species.
Please do not disturb the nesting loons that can be found on many bodies of water in this region. The loons are protected – their eerie calls may be heard primarily in the evening hours. This region offers many lakeside camp rentals – from basic cabins to luxurious waterfront homes with fireplaces, hot tubs, and fine dining. Ask us about NH Fishing or share comments.
