Hart’s Turkey Farm….a place that brings back memories from when I was a small child. Hart’s has been serving up turkey since 1954. Any day of the week you can get turkey served as a dinner, a turkey chef salad, turkey soup, turkey pie, white meat, dark meat, drumsticks, and my favorite the mighty Gobbler, (turkey, stuffing, cranberry, mayo and lettuce). Try Smoked Turkey, Turkey Clubs, Hot Turkey Sandwich, Turkey Nuggets, Turkey Croquettes. Just add Turkey Gravy, Turkey Stuffing, Cranberry Sauce, cornbread, Whipped Potatoes and their famous carrot relish, you would think you are at grandma’s in November. Hart’s also features the great American Hamburger, Steaks, Prime Rib, Seafood, Italian Specialties, and Kiddie Meals. To top off this feast Hart’s has traditional apple, squash, pecan, banana, coconut creme and Lemon meringue Pie to name a few. Ice Cream, Pudding, Jello, Cheese cake, but I will say the blueberry crisp with vanilla ice cream was my absolute first choice. According to their place mats Hart’s serves up to one ton of Turkey on a busy day, 40 gallons of Gravy, and 1000 pounds of fresh potatoes…when you prepare this much food every day you have to be an expert. I can honestly say that Hart’s is one of the best turkey dinners I have eaten. The food is fresh, the turkey moist, and all the accompaniments are what you want and would expect. So much less work than doing it at home, and the service is much friendlier than I am after cooking for 5 or 6 hours. Hart’s has a wonderful take out menu, so call ahead and order a turkey , with or without all the fixings. Pies, rolls, relishes and much more are available in the lobby to take with you as well. You might after all take dessert home. Hart’s is located at the Junction of Routes 3 & 104 in Meredith , New Hampshire.
