Crotched Mountain Ski & Ride in Bennington, NH is one of New England’s newest ski areas. Home of “New England’s Ultimate Snowmaking System”, this Monadnock Region ski and ride area features natural mountain conditions with an 875-foot vertical drop. Top elevation: 2066 feet, Base elevation: 1050 feet. 20 trails. Average grade: 10% – 15%. Terrain: 28% beginner, 50% intermediate, 22% advanced. 2 quad chairs, 1 triple chair, 1 double chair, 1 “Magic Carpet”. Uphill capacity: 11,200 people per hour.
Snowmaking: Over 125 snowmaking outlets with 100 state-of-the-art SMI Fan guns. High-efficiency fan gun equipment pumps 6,000 gallons of water per minute, producing 12+ inches of machine-made snow over the entire ski area in a 24-hour period at temperatures of 20 degrees F.
Getting there: From Boston, MA I-495 (approx. 60 miles): From I-495 take US-3 North for 27 miles (Everett Turnpike), take exit 8 NH-101 west to NH-101A west past Milford to Wilton; in Wilton take NH-31 north through Greenfield to Bennington. In Bennington take NH-47 east for approx. 3 miles. The Crotched Mountain entrance is on your right. From Lowell, NH (approx 38 miles): Take MA-3 to Nashua. Follow NH-101/101A west past Milford, in Wilton take NH-31 north through Greenfield to Bennington. In Bennington take NH-47 east for approx. 3 miles. The Crotched Mountain entrance is on your right.
